Are Women Secretly Laughing At Your Profile…

I can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard at myself. It all started with a 3 AM phone call to a girl named Ali that I met online once upon a time.
Now Ali is not only one of the coolest women I have ever met, but she happens to be extraordinarily beautiful.
I’m talking top five percent looks wise. (Let’s hope her ego is not reading this right now). The reason I bring up her looks isn’t to brag (Although maybe I should!). I am mentioning this because her looks will be important to today’s lesson later on in the discussion.
On a side note, its always great to have female friends, especially ones that are attractive. Hot girls tend to travel in packs and this opens tons of networking opportunities. Even though me and her are no longer romantically involved, thats no reason to burn a bridge with an amazing girl, both inside and out.
So back to my story. Its 3AM and we start randomly talking about relationships. Before we knew it we were reminiscing about the old days when we were both online dating at the same time.
Never one to miss an opportunity to make fun of me, (we love taking shots at each other) the conversation quickly turned to how clueless I used to be at online dating.
Remember, I wasn’t always an expert at meeting women online. I started out as a miserable failure. And Ali just happens to know all my most embarrassing, pathetic, and just plain funny stories.
As we continued to talk and laugh at each other, I thought it would be hilarious to dig up our old profiles on a free site we used years ago. I wanted to see just how lame we once were.
Now remember, this online dating profile was made before I learned and developed The REAL Online Game. This was my profile a long time before I met Ali, when I couldn’t get anyone to respond to my emails no matter how hard I tried.
So we logged on and she started to read my profile to me. It was within seconds that we both began to break out into hysterical laughter.
Now when I say hysterical laughter, I mean uncontrollable to the point where it took me I couldn’t even speak. Tears of laughter were flowing, I couldn’t breathe, and it literally took us about thirty minutes to actually read the whole profile out loud.
We stopped and laugh at each individual line one by one for what seemed like an eternity.
Each line sounded more desperate, corny, and lame then the last.
The sad thing is, I really had no clue whatsoever back then! I honestly thought with all my heart that I had a great profile. I felt that I was just being nice, and making myself seem like the type of guy women always say they want. I even thought it was funny.
In actuality my profile was filled with:
- Tons of nice guy syndrome comments
- Corny jokes that I thought would attract women
- Attraction killers left and right
- Statements that wreaked of me being a frustrated dater
- Terrible choice of language use
- No visualization techniques
- Complete failure to hook my audience
- etc.
I can go on and on forever. Actually, me and Ali did go on and on forever! I wish I could show the profile but sadly, I deleted it short after!
Anyways heres the problem. During this time period of complete failure, I was getting down on myself all the time. I constantly felt as if I was too ugly or inadequate to successfully meet women online.
The truth is, I just had zero understanding of how women think. And I especially had know concept how to write an online dating profile that would attract women.
There was only one word women were thinking when they read my profile. NEXT!
But back to the more important moral of this story. We aren’t always the best judges of our own profiles. Its hard to honestly and objectively look at who we are and if what we have written is capable of attracting women.
We may think we have a great profile, but it may very well be just as laughable as mine was back in the day. Self-deception, as well as a lack of knowledge can be very crippling to our dating lives.
